Friday Night Flies – Zug Bug
Friday Night Flies – Zug Bug was invented by Cliff Zug in the early 1930’s as a cased caddis,it is a great searching pattern and it does a good job representing numerous insects.Cast and retrieve, dead drift, or swing this pattern as it truly a versatile pattern. It is listed as one of the worlds top ten nymphs..I had never used or tied this pattern until last week but Chinook Wind Outfitters had sent us “THE BOX” of materials and the Peacock sword was one of the items that really caught my eye. A little research into uses for the Peacock sword and the Zug Bug seemed like a great choice. This pattern is a slayer and I won’t feel comfortable unless my stillwater and river box has a few variations.
