Friday Night Flies – The Minnow Madness Fly

A recent trip to the Florida Keys has inspired me to tie this traditional styled minnow pattern. There are a ton of synthetic materials out there today, but not many flow like the old goldy “Bucktail” This pattern keeps it sparse so the under layers can pop out and be seen. A simple pattern that can be tied in numerous color combinations that will have all predatory fish licking their lips. This fly will knock their boots off! Enjoy the video.

• Hook: 3X Long streamer Size 2
• Tail: Golden Pheasant Tips
• Body: Chartreuse Lateral Flashabou
• Under wing: UV White Bucktail
• Over Wing: Peacock Swords, UV Chartreuse Bucktail
• Head: Green 3/0 Uni Thread, Bone Dry Solarez.
