Friday Night Flies – FNF Mayfly Nymph Variant
Over the years this pattern has become a go to pattern for stillwater fishing in the Sea To Sky region of British Columbia. I have also had huge success on other lakes in British Columbia. A super simple pattern that covers the bases on a multitude of patterns, similar to the Doc Spratley. The FNF Mayfly Nymph has become a popular locator pattern that can be fished numerous ways. Our favorite way to fly fish this pattern is either with a dry line with a long leader and let it sink , then try a slow slow stripping retrieve. You can also troll it along slowly on either a dry line or sinking line. I haven’t found a way that it doesn’t work. Get out and try one today.
