Friday Night Flies – Phosphorescent Clouser
Friday Night Flies – Phosphorescent Clouser
We love to push the envelope when we’re at the vise, and like most fly tyers we’re always on the search for the next big fly pattern. However, today we’re taking a step back to pay tribute to one of the most versatile patterns of all time The pattern dates back to 1987, so it’s not exactly ancient. Bob Clouser invented the fly as a further development of the traditional American bucktail streamers, but it was actually Lefty Kreh who named the fly. Use Clouser’s for bonefish, bass, pike, trout and anything else that eats bait fish, which is pretty much everything! This Clouser’s designed for the west coast fishing for chum and coho salmon. The chartreuse and UV ability that this pattern brings to the table just makes the fish go nuts.
